Heavy Equipment Transport Team Lifts Baggage Carts

An international shipping company called upon Abrams’ Heavy Equipment Transport team for their assistance last week. As we all know, we are nearly one year into the COVID-19 pandemic. With everyone limiting their outings, online shopping has significantly increased. The increase in online orders leads to a much higher strain on international shipping companies. This company in particular ran out of baggage carts used to move packages around their yard.

In order to compensate for the sudden influx of work, the shipping company began ordering baggage carts from all around Canada and the United States. While some of these carts were delivered by airplane, others came on the back of a truck. A shipment of sixteen baggage carts had been received. Unfortunately, the shipping company ran into a bit of an issue … They had no way to get the baggage carts off of the truck!

They immediately called the Heavy Equipment Transport team at Abrams to ask for their immediate assistance. With over 160 trucks in the Abrams fleet strategically placed throughout their service area, a nearby rotator was dispatched to the truck. Once there they made quick work of offloading the baggage carts from the truck and onto the ground. You can rest assured that your parcel will arrive on time thanks to Abrams!

Fantastic work out there team! Your fast response time and efficient work ensured that the international shipping company could jump straight back into getting those parcels sorted and delivered!

Details of Heavy Equipment Transport Team Lifts Baggage Carts

An international shipping company needed the urgent assistance of a Heavy Equipment Transport team at their sorting facility in Mississauga, Ontario. Abrams immediately dispatched a Heavy Equipment Transport team to the sorting facility. The Heavy Equipment Transport team arrived at the sorting facility and assessed the situation.

A truck had arrived at the sorting facility with sixteen baggage carriers on it’s trailer. The international shipping company needed the Heavy Equipment Transport team to offload the sixteen baggage carriers from the trailer and onto the ground. Once on the ground, the international shipping company could move the baggage carriers without assistance.

The truck was parked by a fence. The Heavy Equipment Transport team backed up their wrecker so that it was perpendicular to the trailer. The Heavy Equipment Transport team attached a chain to one side of the first baggage carrier. The Heavy Equipment Transport team then attached another chain to the other side of the first baggage carrier. Satisfied that the first baggage carrier was adequately hooked up and supported, the Heavy Equipment Transport team began to slowly lift it into the air.

The Heavy Equipment Transport team lifted the first baggage carrier into the air. Once in the air, the Heavy Equipment Transport team moved their crane towards the back of the truck. The Heavy Equipment Transport team then deposited the first baggage carrier on the ground behind the truck. The Heavy Equipment Transport team repeated this process with the remaining fifteen baggage carriers.
