Medical Emergency Causes Truck Driver to Lose Control in Mississauga

Abrams’ dispatch centre received a call requiring immediate assistance from the construction towing Mississauga team at an incident on a farm in Hamilton. The driver of a flatbed truck with a moffett attached at the back had experienced a medical emergency causing him to lose control of the flatbed. He swerved off the road, ran through a field and crashed into a group of trees. The Abrams team quickly dispatched with a 50 ton heavy tow truck, and upon arriving at the site learned that the flatbed truck driver had already been taken to hospital.

Due to a culvert on the side of the road, the tow truck could not directly access the scene and had to be escorted by the farmland owner around an alternative route. The farmer guided the tow truck team with his tractor through the field towards the site of the accident. Luckily, the field was dry and hard packed allowing for an easy drive despite the weight and size of the truck. At the site of the incident, the team were able to winch the flatbed out of the trees. Amazingly, it had experienced minimal damage to the front end. They hooked it up to the tow truck, ensured everything was safely secured and towed the flatbed back to its site in Mississauga.

We send our best wishes to the flatbed truck driver and hope he is doing well. Thank you very much to the construction towing Mississauga team! You did an amazing job!
